Martin Luther King Jr was an American hero who stood up for what he believed in. Someone else tried to silence him for his outspokenness even though it was mostly about peace, love, and getting along with one another. That happened on this day in 1968. It was a sad day; if you are old enough to remember it, you probably remember where you were when you heard it. I was in the kitchen listening to the radio when the news was reported.
Many cities have streets named for him. Many people have repeated his "I have a dream" speech. There will be no other like him, but his legacy lives on, and can benefit every single one of us, regardless of our background, heritage, race, color creed.
